We have found ourselves at a crucial point in the life of the church and her preparation for the Lord's return. Unfortunately we have become inundated by, and enamored with the pleasures of the world and forget that we ought to be watching for the Lord's return.

My heart is burdened for the church as it appears that we are spiraling into apostasy. Let me say, it is very frightening to see 2 Timothy 3 being fulfilled in its clearest form right before our eyes. I personally feel the urge to call the church back to the fundamentals of our faith when Christians were looking for, preaching about, and preparing for Christ's return.

We seem to have a lot of, and more and more activities in our churches but we are dying spiritually. There is little or no anticipation of Christ second coming, and as a result there is no excitement among us. By the way, I believe God is holding us preachers and pastors responsible for not preparing his people for his imminent return.

We must change our conversation from health, wealth, materialism, and earthly pleasure, lest the day of the Lord come on us unawares. We are also encouraged to "Watch...and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. This is talking about the rapture of the saints before the great and terrible day of the Lord/tribulation period.
